Based in London, UK, I have 20 years of experience as a Japanese language and literature teacher.
After graduating from University (B.A. in Economics), I worked as a social studies/history/geography/political economy teacher at Tokai University High School and Kobe Shoin Women's ｈigh school, as well as an English conversation and Eiken preparation instructor at Geos.
I have taught at various institutions, including a Japanese supplementary school in London (Japanese department, elementary level and Japanese Language teacher), ACS Hillingdon/Egham International School (Japanese as a native language class), North London International School (International Baccalaureate IB/MYP program instructor), Anson School (Japanese program as a second foreign language), and International School of London/Qatar (International Baccalaureate IB/MYP/PYP program) and Dwight Global Online School/NY (IB/AP program).
I have a proven track record in helping students pass various qualifications, including GCSE, A-level, IB, and French IB Japanese, AP as well as Eiken and Kanji proficiency tests. I hold a first-class teaching license for high school social studies, a Level 1 Eiken certification, and qualifications for the Japanese Language Teaching Proficiency Test.
今からちょうど４年前の２０２０年。
新型コロナウイルスが全世界で猛威を振るっていた頃。
全世界の学校は休校を余儀なくされ、様々な文化活動も中止となりました。
私にとっては、教師としてやっと２０年目にさしかかろうとしていた頃でしょうか。
「大好きな子供たちと会えない。」「授業もできない。」
そんな日々が続きました。
「子どもたちはどんな思いで毎日を過ごしているのだろう。」
「保護者の皆さんは大変なお仕事をかかえながら、どうやって毎日生活をしていらっしゃるのだろう。」
そして、思ったこと。
「どうにか、みんなとつながって教え続けたい。」
「子どもたちを笑顔にしたい。」
「学ぶことの楽しさをどうにか伝え続けたい。」
オンラインレッスンをはじめたのは、こういういきさつからでした。
そんな中、
「学校に先生がいないから日本語が学べない。」
「もっと集中して学びたいのにいいクラスがなかなか見つからない。」
こんな声も耳にしました。
地理的な制約を超えて、子どもたち一人ひとりとつながり、みんなを笑顔にしたい。
学ぶことの楽しさをもっと知ってほしい。やれる、できるを増やしていきたい。
「できる、やれる、楽しい、うれしい、もっと、もっとやりたい。」
子どもたち一人ひとりがそう思ってくれるような、そんなクラスを！
ご自宅でそれが可能になります。
「たのしい！」「うれしい！」「もっともっとやりたい！」
そう思ってくれる子どもたちが世界中に増えますように。
そのお手伝いができればと思っています。
「学ぶって楽しい！」本当にそうなんですよ。

Greetings
It was exactly four years ago in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was rampant worldwide.
Schools across the globe were forced to close, and various cultural activities were halted.
For me, it was a time when I was just about to reach my 20th year as a teacher.
“I can’t meet the children I love.”
“I can’t have lessons with them.”
These were the days that continued.
I often wondered:
“What are the children feeling as they spend each day?”
“How are parents managing to get through their daily lives while handling such difficult tasks?”
And then I thought:
“I want to find a way to stay connected and keep teaching everyone.”
“I want to make the children smile.”
“I want to convey the joy of learning in any way I can.”
This is how I began online lessons.
During this time, I also heard voices like:
“There’s no teacher at school, so I can’t learn Japanese.”
“I want to focus more on studying, but it’s hard to find a good class.”
This is my educational philosophy.
*To connect with each child beyond geographical limitations and bring smiles to everyone.
*To discover the joy of learning, so that students can increase their feelings of “I can do this.”
“I Can do, I am able to, I am having fun, I am happy, I want to learn more and more!”
I aim to create classes where each child feels this way!
It can be done from the comfort of your home.
“Fun!” “Happy!” “I want to do more and more!”
I hope to see more children around the world feel this way.
I want to help make that happen.
